Good day at the bookstore

Spring has (kind of) sprung! So what’s a family to do when it’s a beautiful day, but the yard is either snow-covered or muddy? Head to the bookstore.

There were FIVE women jostling for space in front of the shelves that contain the romance trade paperbacks. They’re mostly EC, Brava, Secrets, and a few miscellaneous other trades.

And they ALL browsed through the EC titles. Reaching across and around each other. And after a couple walked away (with EC paperbacks in hand) more came along. I wanted to jump up on the bookshelf and do the snoopy dance!

It’s nice to know my local Borders is doing a bang-up business in EC. And a few Brava titles got snagged, too.

Interestingly enough, the entire time I was in the romance section, that’s where everybody was. I didn’t see a single person in the two aisles of alphabetical mass-markets. So maybe the price isn’t as much of a deterent as I thought.

And, as I mentioned I would in a previous conversation with Alison and Monica, I checked out the AA romance shelving. They’re shelved alphabetically in romance, not separated in any way. :)

Shannon, thanks for checking it out! I personally think that’s a good thing they are shelved with all the romances (yay!)…some of the sistas don’t agree, because it’s easier to FIND the books in the AA section. But if my books are romances, I want them available to all, not just 11% of romance readers! The same for any other genre I choose to write in.
    Peace

    Oooh, BTW, cool site…
