5 Blue Ribbons from Contessa of Romance Junkies!: 72 HOURS is jam-packed with thrilling suspense, ultimate betrayal, and incredible passion. Author Shannon Stacey had me hooked from page one and I could not put this book down until the last words were read. The whodunit factor was very fascinating. I never quite knew who the villain was until the conclusion. The person who I had pegged was not the malevolent rogue, which totally threw me for a loop. In addition to the powerful suspense factor, this novel also contained sensational sexual interactions between Grace and Alex. Their intensely passionate encounters went from hot to scorching in a flash and remained in a blazing nature until the end. 72 HOURS is a well-formed story that I would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys romantic suspense. I’ll definitely be on the look out for future novels by Ms. Stacey. ![]() 5 Kisses from Michelle of Romance Divas!: Shannon Stacey has written a fast-paced story that will keep its reader interested from the minute the book is picked up. The suspense is real, as is the romance, and it even gets quite hot. I thought this book was fantastic and was almost disappointed when it came to an end. There was no part where I didn’t suspend disbelief and I liked the interaction between all characters. My very slight complaint, and it is slight, is that I didn’t think some of the dialogue during a sex scene suited the scene (and I’m not generally averse to it if it is suitable to the characters and script). Overall I would recommend 72 Hours to anyone who enjoys romantic suspense and especially for those who like a good fast read. I didn’t stop reading once I started, and I look forward to more from this author (hopefully she will make the Devlin Group a series). ![]() From Cerise of Joyfully Reviewed!: I could not stop reading 72 Hours for a single moment, I read it straight through and then wanted to immediately read it all over again. 72 hours took me on one escapade after another, with each turn getting better and better. The journey to forgiveness on both Grace and Alex’s parts was wrought with pain, trials and a thick mixture of other emotions. Grace’s fear when she discovers her child has been taken is palpable and it flows over into her nervousness at meeting Alex again, followed swiftly by a plethora of other emotions running gambit through the story. There is never a dull moment even after Danny is found. I would definitely recommend 72 Hours to anyone, in fact I already have. As a fan of Shannon Stacy’s previous works, I was not in the least bit let down with her foray into this new genre; in fact, she surpassed my expectations and left me breathless and anticipating her next release. ![]() 5 hearts from Karen H. of The Romance Studio!: I adored this book. Ms. Stacey’s writer’s voice is extraordinary; I easily understood everything about her unique and thrilling plot even though it was intricate and complicated. The characters in this book are so sharp and animated; they step off the pages and come alive. As long as they’ve known each other, Alex and Grace each shock each other with the staggering magnitude of the secrets they’ve managed to keep from each other. The action is non-stop when they team up, just like old times, to pull off the spy mission, after which Alex and Grace revert to their old way of working off that adrenaline rush. It makes you wonder how they ever stayed apart because they are so hot together it wouldn’t be possible to get sex like that anywhere else. Then the action is full speed again when they risk everything to rescue their son. This book is fast paced and exciting, whether from the sexual tension or the suspenseful tension, it doesn’t matter. Both make 72 Hours by Shannon Stacey an exceptional read. ![]() From Kerin of Euro-Reviews!: Shannon Stacey has mastered the art of writing exciting stories that grab your attention immediately and don’t let go until the very end. Whether it’s the depth of emotion experienced by her characters or the intensely erotic love scenes, your heart will pound and your breath will catch in your throat. Watching Alex and Grace struggle to understand their past in order for them to have a future together was both beautiful and agonizing at the same time. The action exploded off the pages of this book and the unspoken emotions and commitments between Alex, Grace and the rest of their team had me captivated. 72 Hours is by far one of the best books that I have read in quite a while and I strongly recommend reading it. You’ll be glad you did. ![]() From Robin Lee of Romace Reviews Today!: 72 HOURS will grab your attention and get your blood pumping. Grace and Alex are not typical people by any means; but in this situation, they do what you would want to if your child were kidnapped and you were capable of extracting justice. Very satisfying. ![]() |
