Marital archaeology

My husband needs his social security card. Not just the number, but the actual card. One would think it would be with ours, right? Sadly, the last time he remembers seeing the physical card itself predates our almost twenty years together, which means it predates my control freak, micro-managing tendencies.

So we spent the evening digging. Digging through drawers and boxes and…you name it, we dug through it. When a couple’s been together almost two decades and has lived in the same house over sixteen years, there are layers and the deeper you dig, the further back in their history you go.

How deep did we dig?

Yes, that is a Yanni cassette tape. And my husband will be stopping by the SS office for a replacement card.

I don’t even remember going through a Yanni phase. If somebody were to ask, I’d probably say I’ve never listened to him. And yet…there’s a cassette tape. I don’t even know how long it’s been since I’ve had a cassette player in the house. A long time.

Hey, I love… okay, loved, Yanni. I even had a video of one of his concerts in Athens.

White Elephant gift! Now you have the perfect White Elephant gift! (I once got a Days of Our Lives sings Christmas carols CD. It was pretty awesome.)
