My kitchen essentials

Over on the Whipped Out blog, Angie just posted a new entry highlighting her favorite kitchen essentials. I wouldn’t even know what to do with that Kitchen-Aid thing. And did you know they make liners for crockpots? I didn’t.

So much kitcheny goodness, so why not share MY favorite kitchen essentials?

My saucepan:

My frying pan:

Those are my favorite pans. Those are pretty much my only pans, though I do have a smaller version of the saucepan.

My iHome iPod dock (with exceptionally good speakers for the size):

The single most important thing in my kitchen, other than the coffeemaker.

My wooden fork:

This isn’t actually used for cooking. The only lingering place I have eczema is on my back, right between my shoulderblades. This wooden fork is very essential.

The knife block:

With missing knives (although the two silvery-colored steakknives are just in the sink to be washed), the pink office scissors that replaced the kitchen shears, and the pink & black striped letter opener we use to open the mail. Dunno where the other knives went.

Last, but not least, my baking dish:

    I think you’re kidding.

    You’re kidding, right?

    Um…no?

    LOL! YES!

I do have cookie sheets, because those are awesome for making tater-tots.

I didn’t take a picture of the cookie sheet, but I have one for making fries, pizza and now cracker candy.

I’ve heard they make bread pans where people actually bake loaf-shaped bread…but I don’t have any of those.

I think it’s time we had an intervention.

I have 6 glass pie plates. 6! Imagine how many loaf pans, casseroles and everything else I have. I can’t imagine NOT having all of it (which I got as wedding presents).

What I want more of is cook ware. I want more skillets and sauce pans.

See, what I want is a kitchen large enough to hold all the goodies I’d love to buy. Oh, and the money for both the large kitchen and the goodies.

I’m funny, though. I’ll go through a cook-everything-from-scratch stage (except for pie crusts. I don’t DO pie crusts.) but have no problems with fish sticks and tater tots, either.

Or frozen lasagna. Even though mine is ten times better.

Um…if those pots were once non-stick, get new ones. You really don’t want to be eating non-stick coating.

I worry about that occasionally, but…I forget when I’m in the store. Maybe I should have asked Santa for new pans?

(But then I might not have gotten all these yummy Yankee Candles!)

Dude…..get thee some new pans. Those are icky and must be trashed immediately. Nonstick pans are onsale somewhere all the time. Srsly.

And you don’t know you’re missing a Kitchen Aid mixer until you get one. Truly an amazing kitchen essential.

And the crockpot bags rock seriously and save tons of scrubbing time after you cook. Love them. Get them at Wal mart in the storage bag aisle.

I have a bread pan. I use it for meatloaf. It keeps all that neat grease in the pan.
