So the tall kid stayed home yesterday with some fast-moving, incredibly blechy stomach thing. Ew. He rebounded as quickly as he was taken down, but do you know how frustrating it is to be trapped at home with so few days remaining until Christmas? (My sympathies to those in Denver and surrounding areas. That so totally sucks.)
The flip side…I got the last American Girl sweater done. :boogie:

Oh…bizarre Shannon tidbit for the day: When I’m doing something which requires both hands but little movement (such as knitting like a madwoman) and I decide to dictate pages into the tape recorder, I do so in a really bad southern accent.
I don’t know why.

I made three. The purple with white “fur” above, a blue with white, and a white with a peachy-beige fur.
And the original pattern is from “Holiday Wear: Knits for Dolls and Children” by Judith Shangold (this copy came from Keepsake Yarnwork, $8.50.) There are patterns for Independence Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, Halloween, Chanukah, and Christmas, and all except the Easter Dress have sizing for the little girls, too.
The Easter dress is not super complicated, but looks amazing on the doll. :thumb:
The sweater above is a very, very adapted version of the Christmas sweater. I skipped the pattern work in favor of a glittery yarn, and added the eyelash “fur”. The biggest change was that I prefer working in the round, because I can’t seam for crap. My mattress stitch is an abomination. So I had to make it so I could bind off the shoulder seams together, and I picked up the sleeve stiches and knit them in the round rather than making a flat sleeve, seaming it, and then sewing it in the armhole. Stuff like that.
