The perfect book?

I might have found my favorite novel of the month year decade. It’s still a little early—I’m only halfway through—but it’s shaping up to be wicked good.

Whiskey Sour (A Jack Daniels mystery) by J. A. Konrath.

Yeah, I know. I’m late hopping on the Konrath train even though there’s been a lot of buzz. Alison even interviewed him back in June. I enjoy his blog—it’s frank, funny and refreshing. I just never remembered to look up his books while in the store…til now.

Boy, am I glad I did. It’s smart, funny without being silly, and edge of the seat suspenseful all at the same time. It takes all my favorite elements of several different series in several different genres and blends them all together, plus I like the narrator’s “voice”. Best part—there are already two more books waiting for me.

I’ve gone from “haven’t read it” to “total autobuying fangirl” in half a book.

I keep meaning to get those, too. Must remember to add to Amazon order! I love a good mystery with some laughs.
