A mystery…

There was a very interesting envelope in my mailbox today.

A big white envelope from Sarie Morrell, Author Publicist containing the promo packet and a hardcover copy of Creepers by NYT’lister (and her father) David Morrell.

Cool.

But…I can’t help but wonder why.

A contest I have no memory of? An early birthday present? Some kind of top-secret viral blogging experiment?

Okay, I HAVE had my eye on this book. I kept meaning to get it from the library (hardover? eek) but I’m so busy lugging my boys’ books around I never remember a damn thing there.

So…it’s a mystery. Correct name and address. (Which is rare—there is an aspect of my address which is uncorrect in almost any listing.) No note. No…nothing. The book and the promo packet. I know…I’ll blog about it!

Off I go to get the Amazon link. Hey, it’s a bargain book. Released Sept 6, 2005. (Interesting notes: My birthday is Sept 6 and my mother’s maiden name is Morel with one R, one L. Not relevant, but interesting to me, anyway.)

So, some kind of promo for paperback release?

I have no idea. Tis a mystery.

EDIT: And yes, I am intrigued and will be reading it ASAP and blogging about it. Just in case that was the point.

EDITING AGAIN: Another mystery—I’d like to know who the hell deleted my MySpace page cause it sure as hell wasn’t me. I am NOT going through that again. DAMMIT.

I was wondering what happened to your MySpace. It just showed up not there earlier this week.:wtf:

I’m with Bryan…thought you deleted it yourself and wasn’t going to ask…

    No clue.

But hey, David Morrell was one of my favorite authors when I was in high school. I loved The Fifth Profession and the series that started with Brotherhood of the Rose.

MySpace has no security whatever and anyone who knows a bit about such things can hack into your account. It probably wasn’t even against you but just some teenage prank, let’s delete a few accounts. :neener:

    I don’t go there.

Blogger has been acting up, too, if it makes you feel any better.

WOW - some mystery, and with all of those things…date, surname, etc that relate to you. Hmm…yeah, I’d investigate.

And if I haven’t already said so a hundred times, I LOVE 72’s COVER!!! :cheer:

I am SO pissed about the MySpace thing. I’d just gotten the damn thing the way I wanted it and BAM! Gone. I guess it’s a sign, because I’m not going through the whole damn thing again.

Creepers is good so far. :thumb:

And thanks, Sunny! I  it, too. Samhain’s cover artists totally rock.
