The devastion
The Colts just stole Adam Vinateri from us.
If you need me, I’ll be in mourning. Gazing mournfully at my big signed poster of him.
Oh, and since we’re dwelling on fallen heroes, I heard about a Johnny Damon t-shirt:
Looks like Jesus
Throws like Mary
Loyal like Judas
I’d laugh, but Adam’s leaving us, and I may never laugh again. (Unless he blows his knee preseason)

okay, now choice of that was just mean, but I do hear Vanderjagt is a free agent…..:hide:

I’d take Vanderjagt. He may choke in the big games, but he’s still one of the best kickers to ever play the game.
I still can’t believe it.

You were the first person I thought of, Shannon, after I stopped screaming and moaning and predicting our 5-11 season.
Here’s how it went. I’m in the kitchen, about to leave for work.
Jim enters the kitchen and says, “Mommy needs a hug.” He proceeds to hug me while the kids make gross noises.
Stupid me, I say, “Why do I need a hug?” and my brain does one of those flash-forward things through a dozen tiny realizations and I know what he’s about to say.
FWORRRRRRRRRDDDDDDDDD-CK.
And we don’t want Vanderjagt. He’s spent 10 years kicking indoors. We need a cold-weather kicker, and the only one available is that no-name from the Vikings.
My father-in-law thinks it’s funny to tell me I can root for the Cleveland Patriots instead.
I really wanna find out who did Adam’s brain transplant.

No sweat, Renee. When your last name has been a girl’s name for 13 years, you just start answering to both. Quite frankly, I rarely even notice.
And I’d take Vanderjagt in a heartbeat. He may be a dome baby, but he’s one of the best kickers to ever take the field. Pair him with some raw cheap talent and grow our own next generation.

I wanted to cry. Seriously cry. They take Brady away from us and I’ll kill. Seriously.

I was reading an interview with Shanahan. They released Vanderjagt because his leg strength was fading and HE CAN’T DO KICKOFFS.
I don’t want Vanderjagt!
‘Course, we’re picking up players all the time that other teams dismiss, who then may go on to do great things for us. Reference Rodney Harrison.
But replacing Adam with two kickers? Stoooopid.
March 23rd, 2006 at 2:47 pm
Okay, not being able to do kick-offs is a bad thing.
Also reference Corey Dillon.
Did Natalie just call me stooooooopid? I think she did.
No, we can’t have two active kickers. But we could have a raw second-stringer under the tutelage of one of the greatest kickers ever.
But if he can’t handle a decent kick-off, then it’s a moot point. Field position is way too important with the AFC teams coming on.

SHANNON! I did not call you stupid! I called the PATRIOTS management stupid if they signed two kickers to replace Adam.
But Vanderjagt signed with Dallas, so it’s ALL moot now. LOL

Yeah, the Tuna got him. Speaking of whom, at least Vinateri didn’t go to the :cursin: Jets, eh?
