4 stars from Romantic Times…

…for Twice Upon A Roadtrip!!! (I’ve been dying waiting for the April issue and the sound of the mailtruck was enough to drag me out of my coccoon of blankets on the couch.)

Jill and Ethan’s story is a hoot! Their chemistry is hot, and Stacey’s comedic timing is wonderful in this fast-paced read that delivers on all counts. — Kristi Ahlers, Romantic Times BOOKclub

I’m starting to venture away from my blankie pile in short trips, but I still have to be very careful about getting too excited.

  4. Gabriele Says:

    Wow, congrats. :cheer:

Drink some hot Grog, original Hamburg receipe. Rum must, sugar can, water you don’t need. :coffee:
Kills my colds in no time. After a few of them I tend to sleep for 12-14 hours. Of course, you’d have to gag your kids to get that effect. :lmao:

  5. Anna Lucia Says:

Woah, Shan. You’re turning into an over-achiever…

    Way to go, Shannon! Congratulations!

I had to pop in because I remembered you’re a fellow Ruskie Fan and I saw this on today’s deals from Publishers Marketplace:

    FICTION: GENERAL/OTHER
Robert Alexander’s THE ROMANOV BRIDE, the story of the beautiful German princess and sister of the tsaritsa, who married into the Romanov dynasty and who abandoned court life to become a nun, selling her palaces and jewelry to help the poor, to David Cashion at Viking, in a significant deal, by Marly Rusoff

I’ll have to read this – but can openly admit I’ll be a nauseous shade of pea-green. Don’t know about you, but every single Russian story I’ve ever proposed has been shot outta the water. In fact, most of ‘em never even made it into the water before they were toast.

Once again, congratulations!!!! RT can be tough – which makes the good ones all the sweeter!

  12. Stef Says:

P.S. I hope you feel better soon!

  13. Beth Ciotta Says:

:cheer: Wahoooooo, Shannon! :cheer: What a FANTASTIC review! Go get ‘em, girl!:clap::clap:

  14. Shannon Says:

Thanks again, everybody. The magazine’s already almost in tatters from being shown off so much.

I saw that, Stef, and had a pretty similar reaction. Especially since I have an outline for an idea which incorporated the fall of the Romanov empire that I was really excited about while hashing it out with an editor….until she left to go to another house in a non-acquiring position.

    Someday…
