what? you’re going to just do ONE post? Ya lazy beech. (I’m practicing because when I grow up, I’m going to be an In Yo’ Face Rioter. . . Uh HUH.)

  2. kate March 29, 2005 at 1:14 pm #

I take it back now that I’ve read your RTB. Wow, girl. That’s worth a couple of days’ posts.

  3. Walt Stone March 29, 2005 at 1:38 pm #

whoops forgot the “someone had to write it. You’re the woman, Shannon.” part of that last post.

  9. Jennifer March 29, 2005 at 3:16 pm #

    Hi Shannon,
Funny thread over at R the B – did you start that???

  10. Jennifer March 29, 2005 at 3:16 pm #

    Hi Shannon,
Funny thread over at R the B – did you start that???

  11. Jaci March 29, 2005 at 3:25 pm #

    you rebel :neener:

I love it…great topic, great discussions today. You did a fantastic job, Shan!

  12. CJ March 29, 2005 at 3:30 pm #

Trying to figure out how it is when I start trouble, I get in trouble and yet when Shannon starts trouble she get applauded :cursin:

  13. Shannon March 29, 2005 at 3:38 pm #

Yes, Jennifer, I’m responsible for the RTB Ruckus.

    Charlie— :neener:

  14. Alison March 29, 2005 at 3:44 pm #

I’m seeing a LOT of puce in your future. *g*

  15. kate March 29, 2005 at 3:50 pm #

Hey, you helped me figure out my Moral Bearings. My sons are rolling their eyes.

  16. Shannon March 29, 2005 at 3:59 pm #

I should go find out exactly what color puce is, anyway. Maybe I can buy matching shoes.

    Tell me it’s almost 6am.

  17. kate March 29, 2005 at 4:05 pm #

I told ya. Puce is the color of dried fleas’ blood. Go find a flea. Kill it. Wipe it off on your computer monitor. See? Looks good, I bet!

  18. Jaci March 29, 2005 at 4:05 pm #

honey it’s not even 6 P.M. yet

  19. kate March 29, 2005 at 4:07 pm #

Yyou could just walk away from your computer. Go outside and harvest some mud or something.

  20. kate March 29, 2005 at 4:09 pm #

tell that charlie person that he’s pretty damn funny but how dare he interrupt the flow of dugeon and outrage with humor?

  21. kate March 29, 2005 at 4:11 pm #

    DUDGEON, DAMmit! Dudgeon, dudgeon, dudgeon.

Next time why don’t you just post about Terry Schiavo or something?

  22. Charlene T March 29, 2005 at 4:36 pm #

Ah, what a great column. And may it lead to a positive solution! Although I’m still laughing over a statement in the comments that I can’t believe was made with a straight face. (Not going to say which one. It oughta stand out.)

Don’t fret, Shannon, it’s a much-needed discussion and if you get tired of your inbox overflowing you can just go eat some chocolate. You deserve LOTS of chocolate!

  23. Alison March 29, 2005 at 4:38 pm #

Charlene – I’ve been dropped-jaw over a LOT of comments, and then I make it worse by running off at the fingers. If I were outside with my alphasmart (which is on my garden chair) instead of inside online, I wouldn’t be getting into so much trouble!

  24. Alison March 29, 2005 at 4:39 pm #

Shannon – Would you feel better if I sent you a copy of LTL? *g*

  25. Shannon March 29, 2005 at 4:44 pm #

    Will the package be ticking?

Mick would definitely make me feel better.

  26. Alison March 29, 2005 at 4:54 pm #

I’ll wrap it in puce paper. Send me your addy.

  27. kate March 29, 2005 at 5:00 pm #

If I promise to stop posting in this blog and RTB can I have a book, too? Plain brown wrapper, please.

  28. Shannon March 29, 2005 at 5:05 pm #

    :wiggle:

And stay tuned for my next month’s RTB column: The Role of the Really Cute Kitty in Romance. :eyebrow:

  29. kate March 29, 2005 at 5:11 pm #

    coming in April: Pussies

  30. BJ Deese March 29, 2005 at 5:18 pm #

    LMAO Kate!

  31. Nicole March 29, 2005 at 5:18 pm #

Oh Gawd…SHannon and kate should not be posting. My first reaction to post after kate was “will they be black pussies?” (I’m a black cat girl). Somehow that just doesn’t sounds right. Actually, white pussies and calico pussies don’t sound good either. Hrmmm… can anyone tell I’m bored today?

But um..I’m shallow. I bought Nina Bangs’ book on the basis that she had a black cat on her website.

  32. Mel March 29, 2005 at 6:37 pm #

I’m late to the party but Shan, applause to you for making a statement. Don’t go hiding under a mountain of chocolate or try sticking that Dorito bag on your head either. Successful people make noise. :)

(Not that kind of noise, Charlie)

Hugs! you done good… now, off to post some noise.
    ~Mel

  33. AngieW March 29, 2005 at 8:09 pm #

 @ kate’s comment about writing about Terry Schiavo. Only slightly less inflammatory, right?

And Shannon, once 6am hits, your post only drops down the page, it doesn’t disappear for all time. People will still be able to see it and comment :neener:

Just be proud of yourself for taking a stand on a subject you feel passionately about (and I apologize if I offended anyone’s morals by making them read about passion  ) and for stating your opinion very eloquently. You done good. I hope my future son-in-law has as much chutzpah as his mom!

  34. Mel March 29, 2005 at 8:27 pm #

I blogged, I read, I commented and then went to tan. Lying in the bed, surrounded by gleaming bright lights, I realized what I’d written and how it may sound.

(I went to make noise to emulate your success, not to stroke my ego about successful people and noise. After all, following takes less effort, sort of like blazing a trail….)

Mel, still spitting out debris from the foot in mouth….

  35. Shannon March 29, 2005 at 8:44 pm #

I didn’t take it any other way, Mel.

And even I’m not insane enough to share my views on poor Terri, other than I hope she finds peace soon.
