Walk into any psychiatric hospital and 9 out of 10 professionals will tell you the same thing. The 10th is a new graduate and still idealistic.
Perhaps I shouldn’t admit this, but when I worked in the psych hospital, we would stretch the stay of a sex-offender as long as possible to avoid putting them back into the community. It’s a horrible balance of “patient rights” versus the safety of others.
The things I saw… and heard… unimaginable. It’s all so unimaginable.
