Drawing a blank
Since my day has consisted of: 1–trying to teach a 9 yr old with a healthy gag reflex how to swallow a pill that didn’t offer a liquid option and 2–trying to sew these little freakin badges on same kid’s uniform before the banquet, I’m feeling less than inspired.
Diana, however, asked an interesting and thought-provoking question today, so y’all should take your Doritos and coffee and head over there.
On second thought, leave the coffee.

I thought of the applesauce, but we didn’t have any, and it seemed like such a simple skill to accomplish. Unfortunately, he convinced himself he would choke.
After much pleading, begging, threatening, bribing and conjoling, we finally found a way to get him to do it.
Which reminds me, I owe the tall kid five bucks.

Shannon, try giving them a cracker with it. Let them chew it up a bit and then pop the pill in. If they can sorta surround the pill with chewed up cracker, it’s easier to swallow. SOunds disgusting, but it usually worked for me when I was a kid with the world’s worst gag reflex. Hell, I have trouble still just brushing my back teeth and gagging.
